Deep Dives with Oracle Cards

March 31, 2018

Do you have that one great friend; the one you always love talking with; the person who seems to offer the right nugget of wisdom just when you need it the most? When you think of the talks you've had with that friend, do they feel empowering or more advice-ladened? When I was younger, talking with my friends about some angst-filled moment, I'd find myself being given the lines "you know what you should do" and I'd quickly feel indebted to their unsolicited advice. Back then, I didn't know how to listen to my own compass or the messages of my inner knowing.

Over the years, as a way to trust my own voice, I've practiced asking myself questions; journaling thoughts; and cultivating my intuition. One of the tools I've used in this process are Oracle cards. The word "oracle" derives from the Latin orare "to speak" and commonly refers to a person or object that delivers guidance from a Divine source and speaks wise counsel. My Oracles connect me to my Higher Source. It's how I talk to Spirit. I know the terms "Spirit, Divine, or Higher Source," don't resonate with everyone. I like to think of it like this. My inner knowing has been formed by my beliefs, my experiences, and my inspiration. I can easily spell out my beliefs and recollect my experiences but when it comes to my inspiration, it's more of a mystery to explain. Fo me, this mystery is the realm of Spirit.

I use my oracle cards as an inspiring board of directors meeting between me and the Universe. I'm asking my highest self to show me what I need to know, am I staying true to myself, and what right-aligned actions steps can be taken next. When I find myself deeply attached to a particular outcome, the cards spark a light inside me that helps connect me back to my truth and release unrealistic expectations.

I use my cards on a regular basis for things like:

centering myself for the day

seeing other possibilities in any situation

brainstorming ideas for upcoming projects

understanding my story in motion

moving past self-imposed obstacles

creating new opportunities

processing emotions

moving into my authentic purpose

and much more

Interested in trying oracle cards and dialoguing with your highest self? I would be honored to do a reading with you as we dive deep and tap your inner wisdom. Sessions can take place in person or over the phone. To book a session, send a message via the contact page.
